What’s The Difference Between: Not, Partially, or Fully Favorable SSI SSDI Disability Claims

  • Not/Unfavorable: If you received a notice such as this from the SSA, it means that you were adjudicated and found not disabled.
  • Partially Favorable: If you received a notice such as this from the SSA, it means that you were found disabled, although your alleged onset date of when you claimed to be severely disabled, was moved forward or backward in time, thereby shortening, or increasing your back pay.
  • Fully Favorable: If you received a notice such as this from the SSA, it means that you were found disabled from the date you claimed to be severely disabled. For SSI claimants, this will always be your protective filing date, and for SSDI claimants, it may be before you filed.
